Use colour to enhance the play experience

View this month's 'Installation in the Spotlight' to see how colour can transform your playground

This is the second of our Miroad newsletters designed to keep you up to speed with our safety surfacing, and to give you some ideas for your own projects.
If you thought EPDM only came in black, think again! We offer 19 vibrant colours to help bring your playgrounds to life.   With a little imagination, the playground surface can add a whole new dimension and enhance the play experience.
To show you what we mean, we are launching ‘Installation in the Spotlight’   to highlight some of the amazing creative installations around the country using Miroad EPDM granulate and binder.  If you have a project you would like us to include in this feature, just send us some photos and a short write up to

Our first spotlight falls on Sunninghill, just outside Ascot. .  The local playground was badly in need of refurbishment.  Ascot and Sunninghill Parish Council wanted a safer surface that would be brighter and more appealing for the toddlers who play there.   The installation work was done by Steve Scholes of Coast 2 Coast. The transformation was amazing, as you can see from the 'before' and 'after' photos, with the finished result shown above.

Don't forget to send us your own installations, we would love to hear from you.  To visit our website to see the full range of Miroad products and place an order online, click here

The existing surface was a mishmash of old EPDM, patched in repairs and tarmac.  Surface damage was causing a trip hazard.
SBR was used to bring all the levels up before the new EPDM was applied.
Shades of blue were inset with bright yellow 'splash' graphics to add visual interest.
